Album Cover

This is another cross stitch project that I finished a while ago while watching a movie. It is an album cover.

The design was a chart in "Attractive Cross Stitch Designs" published by Ondori. Here is the chart and colors:

You will need:
- 45cm by 95cm beige java cloth (10cm of fabric = 35 square meshes)
- DMC 6-strand embroidery floss as follows:
1.5 skeins of 326-778
1 skein of 818
1/2 skein of 783-602-800
small amounts of 433-436-975-743-904-3347-991-3688-3689-604-415-820- 996-799-310
* You might notice that I did not use the same colors. The truth is I wanted to finish the piece and had many remaining colors from previous projects. So I used the!
* The book is a bit old, so if the floss numbers have changed, do not worry. You can use the new ones.

Enjoy!

Quilled Lantern

Fanoos Ramadan, or the lantern, is one of the most famous aspects in our community. Initially, it was used to light the streets during the night for people to easily go out to visit their families and friends. It is said that the Fatimid Caliph used to go out at night to sight the crescent of Ramadan and the Egyptian children went out with their candle-lit lanterns to light his path, singing joyfully for the holy month. Later the idea of the lantern spread in most of the Arab countries.
My sister Olive Oil made this colorful lantern in celebration of the tradition, for Ramadan is just days away.

You will need some colorful strips of paper and a glue.

Start by rolling five strips to form the teardrop shape and one strip into a tight coil.

Glue three teardrops together, joining them from the bottom with your fingers.

Then glue the remaining two, one at the top and one at the bottom to form the base of the lantern. Finally attach the tight coil above. Now you have your Fanoos Ramadan.

Chocolate Biscuit Rolls

This is our favorite dessert ever. It is easy, it is delicious, it needs no baking, and it is made with chocolate :)

You will need:
- Some biscuits
- chocolate sauce
- a deep rectangle tray or a plastic bag

Start by breaking biscuits into moderately large pieces in a bowl.

Then we need to prepare a chocolate sauce, either from scratch or by using a ready-made sauce.

Now mix the two together. Make sure to add biscuits gradually to the sauce, until you are satisfied with the result.

Put the mix in a deep rectangular tray or in a plastic sheet and wrap it well, leaving no air bubbles inside.

Throw it in the freezer for a while until it is firm. Slice it and dive in.

Bon Appetit!
