Embroidered Denim Skirt

Here is another project done by my sister OliveOil. It is an embroidered skirt.

She wanted to add a border to her long denim skirt. So she looked for a simple design and she found great designs in this creative blog:
http://mytransfers.blogspot.com/p/popular.html
She picked this design and after changing some small details, here is the modified one:

Then she chose two shades of pink and pistachio dmc yarn to embroider the main line.

Finally she scattered some small flowers taken from the same design all over the skirt with different soft colors. Here is a closer look on the border.

Enjoy!

Album Cover

This is another cross stitch project that I finished a while ago while watching a movie. It is an album cover.

The design was a chart in "Attractive Cross Stitch Designs" published by Ondori. Here is the chart and colors:

You will need:
- 45cm by 95cm beige java cloth (10cm of fabric = 35 square meshes)
- DMC 6-strand embroidery floss as follows:
1.5 skeins of 326-778
1 skein of 818
1/2 skein of 783-602-800
small amounts of 433-436-975-743-904-3347-991-3688-3689-604-415-820- 996-799-310
* You might notice that I did not use the same colors. The truth is I wanted to finish the piece and had many remaining colors from previous projects. So I used the!
* The book is a bit old, so if the floss numbers have changed, do not worry. You can use the new ones.

Enjoy!

Bee with you

Do you love cross stitching as much as I do? If you do, you will like this simple and easy project a lot. It did not take much time from me and it can make a great gift. You may even add the name of your friend and sign your name below or you can use it in a card.

I came across the chart in a cross stitch magazine I had bought many years ago. The original chart was stitched on a white fabric with green corners. But I felt the yellow frame needed a strong color in the background. So I used this red fabric. What do you think?

I would love to see your own choice of colors. There was other similar designs and I will try to post them soon, so that you will be able to choose from them the one you prefer. As for this one, here is the chart:

and here are the colors you will need:
